FREE AUDIO CONVERSION TOOLS

Convert audio files.
Right in your browser.

Choose a format pair to convert audio online. Files are processed on your device with FFmpeg WebAssembly—not uploaded to a conversion server.

How online audio conversion works

Each audio converter uses FFmpeg WebAssembly to decode your selected audio file and encode it in a different format within your browser. The audio itself stays on your device. The media engine is downloaded from a CDN when you start your first conversion and may require around 31 MB of data.

Choose the right audio format

MP3 is widely supported and uses lossy compression. WAV is typically uncompressed PCM audio and takes more storage. M4A commonly contains AAC audio, while OGG files often use Vorbis. Converting between lossy formats cannot restore audio information already removed by compression.

Audio converter FAQ

Are my audio files uploaded?

No. Conversion runs locally in your browser. The browser does request the converter software from the jsDelivr CDN.

Why does the first conversion take longer?

The browser downloads the FFmpeg WebAssembly media engine on demand. It can then use the loaded engine to convert your selected files.

Can I convert several audio files?

Yes. Each audio converter processes selected files one by one and provides individual download links for successful conversions.
